Session Schedule
You’ll find a complete list of presentations, workshops, training classes and other activities on the Sessions page of the 3D Basecamp website. Each session now lists when and where it will take place, as well as a maximum capacity for the room. There’s no pre-registration for individual sessions—you can change your mind at the last minute if you like.
The Program page includes a chronological view of Basecamp in both diagram and list forms. Here, you can see an hour-by-hour rundown of what will happen on each day. A condensed version of this information will be printed on your attendee badge.
Badge Pickup
When you get to Basecamp, one of the first things you should do is check in with us and pick up your attendee badge. Follow the signs throughout the first floor of the venue to find the Badge Pickup station, which will be open at the following times:
- Sunday, April 13th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
- Monday, April 14th from 8:00 am to 1:45 pm
- Monday, April 14th from 6:45 pm to 7:45 pm
Laptop Batteries
We’ll have power outlets in the longer sessions (training classes and workshops), but not enough for everyone to be plugged in the whole time. Please remember to charge your laptops overnight.
Training Classes
A reminder that we’ve scheduled three, 3-hour training classes for Monday morning. Each of these classes begins at 9:00 am and ends in time for lunch at noon. There’s no additional charge for attending, and you don’t need to sign up ahead of time.
- Beginner SketchUp Training
- Intermediate SketchUp Training
- Beginner LayOut Training
For these training sessions, please bring the following:
- A laptop with SketchUp Pro 2014 installed (we’ll have temporary licences if you need them for the duration of the event)
- A mouse with a scroll wheel
One more thing: The Intermediate SketchUp Training class will be repeated on Wednesday morning.
SketchUp Pro 2014
If you’re bringing a laptop to Basecamp, please go ahead and install SketchUp 2014 (Pro or Make) on it. You can have multiple versions of SketchUp (8, 2013, 2014) installed on your machine at the same time. We’ll have a temporary license code for SketchUp Pro 2014 that you can use at Basecamp, in case you haven’t purchased one yet.
Official Basecamp Attendee Directory
By popular demand, we’re putting together an Official Attendee Directory that you can use to contact people you meet at 3D Basecamp. Participation is optional, and the list itself will only be shared with other attendees. We’ll send out the first version a couple of days before Basecamp, and another one a few days afterwards. Add your contact information here.
Altitude
Vail, Colorado is located at about 8000 feet (2440 meters) above sea level, which is higher than most folks are used to. Drink lots of water and limit your intake of alcohol and tobacco to avoid getting altitude sickness. It’s no fun. We suggest bringing your own water bottle with you and taking it easy at Monday night’s party.
See you in Vail! |
