Joist Tool - With Ceiling

Postby JBMI » Fri Jun 10, 2016 7:13 am

When including ceiling with the joist tool, drywall is placed below joists where the joists are bearing on walls below. How can this be avoided with having to manually push/pull the drywall back from the walls?

Thanks,
Jordan

Hi Jordan,

To save you having to always push/pull the drywall back I'd suggest using the Ceiling Tool in the Roof Tools. If you use the Ceiling Tool you can also generate the cornice at the same time as well as assigning different materials to different areas/rooms.
Kind Regards,

I tried that method using the ceiling tool but my ceiling tool does not work correctly. The material does not generate with any thickness and trying to create materials with a thickness (1/2" for example) is not possible as the thickness field is missing on the create new material page...

Hi Jordan,

My apologies in the delay in getting back to you. Your reply must have gotten lost somewhere in the notifications.

We have just fixed up the issue you mentioned where the thickness field was missing so you should be able to get the result you're after now.

Would you be able to please let me know if this fixes the issue you're having?
Kind Regards,
Grant
