Doors In Exploded Walls

Hello, This is probably an easy fix, I hope…

I had to Explode my model because the first and second floors were grouped together somehow in sections… Once i exploded and grouped separately, Now I cannot install windows and doors in the walls.

how do i fix this?

Also, I used the “Create similar wall” function. is this possibly why it grouped some sections of the second floor to the first floor group?

Thanks,

kenneth

I deleted the walls and redrew. But, wondering if there was a way to fix it without erasing and redrawing?

Thanks,

Kenneth

Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for your post!

When exploding grouped items, you have to be careful to not explode the PlusSpec assemblies as it will prevent you from further editing or adding to the assemblies, in this case walls.

To prevent accidentally exploding too far, make sure you try ‘right-clicking’ the PlusSpec assembly to see if you can still edit it with the PlusSpec tools.

If you can’t edit the assembly, you’ve likely accidentally exploded the PlusSpec assembly. If you have just done the explosion, just go ‘Ctrl+Z’ to undo until you find you can edit the assembly again.

Hope this helps!

Best,
Emily
