Wall Finish or New Wall type

Postby sontung » Sat Aug 24, 2019 10:41 pm

I need to model a wall with PIR insulation 20mm, then a gap 20mm for steel battens and clips and finally 10mm plasterboard. That's a total of 50mm of a few layers. I presume that's best done in the wall tool but in this case its a Dincel wall which I suppose puts me back to the wall surface tool which won't allow so many layers. Can you advise

Hi sontung,

Thank you for your post.

The Wall Surface Tool allows up to three layers to be added and since there are three layers that you need I would recommend using this.

If you create a material for each of the skins (battens will need to be shown as a skin and not a gap, but can be disregarded in the takeoff) you should get a result similar to the image below. This way the end result will be the correct thickness.

Would you be able to please let me know if this works for you?
