PlusSpec and Revit

Hi Everyone,

I received this question today at the PlusSpec 2016 Webinar. It is a great question and I thought I would post it onto the forum so that I can help everyone with the answer.

Can PlusSpec Be Exported as a DXF File or Import Into Revit?

The answer to this question is YES. PlusSpec models can be exported to a large range of different softwares and file types. I have supplied a list below of the types of files you can export the model as.

COLLADA File (.dae)
AUTO CAD DWG File (.dwg)
AUTO CAD DXF File (.dxf)
3DS File (.3ds)
FBX File (.fbx)
IFC File (.ifc)
Google Earth File (.kmz)
OBJ File (.obj)
VRML File (.wrl)
XSI File (.xsi)

Hopefully this helps you all.

Kind Regards
Dean

IFC is the best method currently available, it works between Revit, Archicad and Sketchup. PlusSpec automates the input of the IFC classification so you’ve a lot of the work automated if you plan on using your model in Revit. Many of our users are using Layout in Sketchup Pro. Layout has improved out of sight in the last few years and we have automated many of the repetitive the processes for you, check out the template we created in the youtube video. Many of our users are using Layout for their construction documentation. I did a video here youtube.com/watch?v=bvNVCzIF_00
